What am I doing here?

I'm a self confessed lurker.

I have all manner of subscriptions and accounts on this 'ere interslice but don't actively comment, post or generally get involved. I eventually deleted my Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts cos I just couldn't do the social networking thing. I'm not sociable and I'm not a networker. Maybe that's why we didn't mesh well.

Therefore, 'Small Hats' is mine and mine alone. I don't have a really cool story behind why it's called Small Hats. I just like it. It's random enough to be considered odd but not so random that I should be tied up, gagged, thrown in the boot of a large saloon car and driven at some speed to a deserted woodland where forebearers of the crazy brigade are currently dwelling. Oh no.

It boils down to one salient point. I enjoy writing. Not in the guise of my work which is all protocols, operating procedures and further blah blah but the free form where you express an opinion or describe something that simply made you smile on the bus. That's my kind of writing.

I'm also using this as an excuse to fiddle about with the internet. Not fiddle in an inappropriate way you understand. I'm not good with technology, frankly it scares me. Hopefully, I may even learn a little something along the way, which is never a bad thing.
